Weekend trip with the whole group (24th-26th October)
On Friday at 3:30 pm we started our trip to the YMCA Camp St. Croix Retreat. After one hour of driving we arrived, and had some time to unpack our stuff in the cabins. We had six cabins in which we slept in groups of eight to twelve people. At 5:30 pm it was time for a delicious dinner. Afterwards we had some time in our groups to work on our presentations. Later in the evening we all met up at the campfire to eat marshmallows and sit together. After a great time with the whole group, we went to bed at around 11 pm.
The next morning started at 8 am when everybody came together at the dining hall to eat breakfast. Then we went to do activities which were instructed by teamers of the camp. Half of the group went climbing at a climbing tower, while the other half did low ropes team building in two groups. After lunch at noon, the groups switched the activities. We had a lot of fun and got to know the Americans even better, even though the weather wasn’t the best. Before working on our presentations again, we had some free time. When all of the presentations were finished, we had dinner at 5:30 pm. Afterwards we presented our results to the teachers and half of the students. While we got to improve our presentations based on the feedback, the other half presented their results. When all the schoolwork was done, we all met up to play a game called ghost in the graveyard. Tired from the amazing day, we all went to bed.
On Sunday, after having breakfast together everyone went back to their cabins to pack their stuff and clean their space. After a great time, we returned to Northfield around noon.
